Round 14 of the AMA Supercross Championship brought the final Triple Crown of the season to Huntington Bank Field, and it delivered chaos, adversity, and grit across the board.
For Eli Tomac, the night ended before it ever truly began. After coming into Cleveland still in the title fight, Tomac suffered a heavy crash during the first qualifying session in the whoops. He attempted to return for Q2 but ultimately pulled off, dealing with lingering hip discomfort and was ruled out for the remainder of the night. A blow to his championship hopes, as the Triple Crown format offered zero opportunity to recover once sidelined.
Jorge Prado faced a different kind of challenge — adapting to the Triple Crown format under tough track conditions. In Race 1, Prado showed early speed, running inside the top 5 on the opening lap before fading back to P14 as visibility and track conditions became an issue. Race 2 saw him settle into P15, and despite putting together consistent laps in Race 3, he again crossed the line in P15. A night of learning and survival, Prado would finish 14-15-15 for P15 overall, continuing to build experience in his rookie Supercross season.
Meanwhile, Justin Hill quietly put together one of the more impressive rides of the night. Hill went 10-11-3 across the three mains, showing steady progression as the night went on. After two mid-pack finishes, he capitalized in the final race with a strong P3 ride, charging through the field and taking advantage of late-race opportunities. That final moto push secured him P8 overall, highlighting his consistency and late-race speed in the stacked 450SX class.
Overall, Cleveland was a defining round — a mix of setbacks, adaptation, and breakthrough rides as the championship picture continues to tighten heading into the final rounds.
